Technical guides: GEO and AI in advertising

Hands-on guides: GEO, for getting cited by ChatGPT and Gemini; connecting Google Ads, Meta and TikTok to Claude over MCP; three AI engines on one brief.

The GEO guide is the one to read first. GEO, generative engine optimization, is the work of getting ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews to cite you, put you in the answer and recommend you. It is a layer on top of SEO, not a replacement. The guide goes in the order the work does: the technical gate first (let the AI crawlers in, put the content in the HTML, get indexed in Bing), then entity clarity, earned media, pages an engine can quote, and how to measure it, with thirteen free tools that run in your browser.

The MCP guide connects Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta and TikTok to Claude through each platform's official MCP connection, read-only first. Google Ads and Google Analytics are read-only by design; Meta and TikTok can also change budgets and campaigns, which is why a whole part of the guide is about permissions. Fourteen parts, over 100 prompts.

The AI-engines test takes that connection one step further. Fable 5.1, Grok and Opus 4.8 Max got the same Google Ads brief and a year of real account data, and Fable 5.1 came first. The rule is the same across all three pieces: read-only, a person reviews every output, and nothing that spends money goes out as is.
